Ken
Keyser
is a northern Wisconsin author, veteran, and storyteller that
grew up in a boarding school on the Oneida Indian Reservation
in northern Wisconsin in the 1930s. He has enjoyed a full and
interesting life, and being a friendly and social fellow, Ken
is always full of great stories. His friends and loved ones encouraged
him to gather these colorful tales and write them down. For years
he resisted, but finally Ken Keyser took this to heart. With
the help and support of his wife Betty, he wrote his first manuscript.
Ken's manuscript was almost 5 years in the making, and this effort
and dedication is solidly portrayed in his first book, "The Kids of
the Guardian Angel Boarding School". |

This
fascinating and well written book tells the compelling story
of the adventures Ken, his brothers, and their mischievous gang
survived in their early years.
Early
in life, Ken became the man of the family after an abusive father
left his mother high and dry with 6 kids in the 1930s. His loving
Mother did everything she could to get them on the right path
and keep them housed and fed. Ken and his brothers grew more
and more rebellious and unmanageable out of hate for their Father.
About
to lose her children, their Mother placed them in the Guardian
Angel Boarding School in northern Wisconsin. Here they lived
the rites of passage; pain, anger, loneliness, joy, overcoming
challenges, sticking up for each other, and integrity. This was
also the beginning of a great story, and a series of them along
the way.
Thankfully
Ken Keyser did put these stories to print for us to live and
enjoy. It would have been a true loss to let stories of growing
up of this quality fade from our memories untold. |

Potts Eddie, Sister Justina, and Big Guts. You will go on adventures
riding trains and ice floes, bully bulls and badgers, and at
the same time learn about sticking up for each other and doing

About Ken Keyser..
I
am an avid reader and my home is filled with books about all
subjects -History, space travel and space probes, gardening,
alternative medicines and self healing. No fiction on my shelf..I
want to know about the real world.
I read a lot of history, and I abhor the IRS and politicians.
My favorite sport is archery. I like the flight of
the arrow-it holds a magic for me.
I was drafted into the army in 1946 and that was another phase
in my life--perhaps more stories?? I reallly enjoy talking to
people everywhere I go.
